Best Anti-Virus Software 2015

I have done some research for the best anti-virus software on the market. I took notes for both Android and Windows. So lets get to it.

First we will go with Android Smart Phones…

<![if !supportLists]> 1.       <![endif]>ESET Mobile Security and Antivirus 4.9 out of 5 Stars

What we liked with our free 30 day trial was, it found 2 applications with malware signatures and or embedded advertisements. This app was able to scan for what adds where to be displayed and found two apps with malware ads. These ads sometimes can download other apps or hidden software onto your smartphone. This is the reason why, I fell in love with this application. According to ESET scored high on their test too. For malware detection was a leading best of 99.94% in March 2015 for version 3.0 for platform Android 5.0.1. Also according to AV Test, this software doesn’t impact battery life, or performance. It includes a good anti-theft options too, also has call blocker message filter, and web browsing protection. Some noticeable other features are Anti-Phishing and Security Audit features help keep malware away and help protect you from unsafe websites.

<![if !supportLists]> 2.       <![endif]>Avira Free Android Security 4.9 out of 5 Stars

This application found several other applications that ESET didn’t but did not do an enhanced testing on it. We love the features Avira offers and we love the free price tag. This brand also tops our best anti-virus software for computer. According to www.av-test.or it has a 100% detection rate, and 0 false positives based on the March 2015 while running the 3.9 version of Avira and Android 5.0.1. This app also doesn’t slow down or eat battery. Some features include, Anti-Theft, Call and Message Filter, and web browsing protection. Other features include Identity Safeguard similar to the Ani-Phishing protection that ESET offers. These two are my top 2 and should be tied for my number 1.

<![if !supportLists]> 3.       <![endif]>Avast Mobile Security 3.5 out of 5 Stars.

The only reason I give this software bad rep is it has fail to save my phone from having to do a full rest. This is still a good application, but doesn’t scan inside apps. Though it does give an application scanner but we would love to see it inside the virus scanning settings. For this reason I give this application a 3.5 star review out of 5.  Despite our real life experience, has Avast at a 100 percent detection rating. They also give this app a check for battery life and performance, meaning no issues with this. We have notice a slight battery drain while using the Avast Software on our Samsung Galaxy S5. Other features that we love and this is why I have given this software a higher score was because of the Anti-Theft Software. It requires a pro version upgrade to enable call and message filter options. Despite the required upgrade, your phone is still protected from malware text messages. Other features include Safe Browsing Protection witch does work wonders and even scans the SSL Certificate, Fire Wall (Requires Root Access and isn’t needed), and Network Meter.

Now to the computer Side of things…

<![if !supportLists]> 1.       <![endif]>Avira Pro 2015/Free 4.9 Stars out of 5

Simply the best anti-virus based on the and on our extensive testing. It scores a top 100% in both 0 day malware witch is mind blowing. Then there is the overall detection rate and blocking rate which scored at a 100% also. Doesn’t slow down your computer, and offers a full options list. Avira is also a great at an easy User Interface.

<![if !supportLists]> 2.       <![endif]>Avast Free 2015 4.8 out of 5 Stars

I am totally shocked that Avast didn’t score higher than a 97% in March and 99% in April on the 0 day virus detection. But then again I am not surprised as I feel there is no safe option for this defense yet. Malware creators will always get the upper hand on this one. The overall malware detection rate is a 100% and the new 2015 edition offers network scanning tools to scan even your wireless router for malware. The only reason I don’t have Avast at my number 1 is, due to its performance issues. It does slow down your computer a bit. I will take a slower computer over a virus infested computer any day. Plus Avast offers a boot scanner and a rescue CD Boot Scanner option too, and is the only free anti-virus vender to have both.  I use Avast on all my computers and recommend it to my clients.

<![if !supportLists]> 3.       <![endif]>Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 4.5 out of 5 Stars

The only reason why I give this software a 4.5 rating is its hefty price tag and manufactured in Russia. I love the security it offers and has a great score on the site as well. Kaspersky offers parental controls that are also great. However, you can get a parental control for free by going to and signing up and configuring your home router. This video is on our You Tube Channel.

<![if !supportLists]> 4.       <![endif]>Iolo System Shield 4 out of 5 Stars

Another great option is the Iolo System Shield that comes with Iolo System Mechanic Pro 14.5 System Utility Suite. I am not a fan of most system utility suites, but Iolo offers the best at low cost. Go to for details and visit my You Tube Channel to watch my review on this amazing software. Despite not being scored by I have to say this is a great choice. The only reason why I give it a 4 is the AV Test Lab not certified Security Software. I have no clue how this software isn’t certified but it should be.
